The owner of Life Fitness New Zealand approached us in to create a flagship headquarters for his successful fitness equipment company based in Hamilton. The site is located within the commercial Te Rapa area in Hamilton North and fronts on to The Boulevard’, a busy road which services the remainder of this commercial area. 

The brief was to create a building with real presence. Externally the design needed to express the ‘fast moving’ nature of the fitness industry and also include the bold corporate colours of the Life Fitness brand. Internally our client wanted to ensure it was an exciting and vibrant place to be for their employees and for clients.

For design purposes the company was essentially divided into 4 key elements, sales, administration, refurbishment and logistics. From the outset in-depth discussions and planning were had around how the spaces were used, interconnected and what the functions were of each employee. Once the function was established then the form of the building took shape and we were able to create a practical, clever building which we think also looks great.

We worked alongside Spaceworks for the interiors who did a fantastic job with design and material selection. Arrow International were the main building contractors who also did a stand out job.
