hidden haven
This contemporary low-lying home will be situated on Maungakawa hill overlooking the Cambridge basin. The sprawling 8000m2 site has breathtaking 360° views which this family dwelling will embrace from every angle.
Walking into the glazed entrance, the focal point of the home, visitors are first drawn to the infinity pool and then enveloped by the breathtaking views directly over the valley below.
The four main living pods have been designed to take advantage of the scenic views from each significant vantage point. The outdoor living spaces overlook the elevated surrounds while being cleverly concealed from occupants within other parts of the home, using angles and thoughtful wall placement.
The four pods consist of a main living and media area, boardwalk and entrance hall, bedroom wing and a fully self-contained private guest suite. The pods are joined by glazed links and internal and external interconnecting spaces.
The sustainably grown Western Red Cedar cladding in vertical shiplap profile and feature slatting provides a strong relationship with the setting and the contrasting Eurostyle iron cladding and aluminum fascia and barges.
Turner Road (and our clients!) are very much looking forward to seeing this design come to life. So, watch this space!
